Forgotten

Wasn’t expecting to find my youth buried in the back of that cupboard, but there it was, waiting to be dusted off and donned once more. As faded and torn as it was, there was no shortage of naivety and curiosity buried within. Do I dare dust it off? It could be just what the doctor ordered, or it could do more than good. What the hey, I’ll give it a day.

Man Up

Are you a man or a mouse? Surely you can handle more,  something stronger, with more bite, but no, not you. You don’t want any of the fame or adulation that comes with the challenge, no. You crave the mediocrity, you live for it. For better or worse, you’re everything your old man ever thought you were. You could accept this or, if you’re daring, you could prove me wrong.

If only

What if, and only if, you had it. What if you had that one thing that made all the difference in the world, though only to you. You would smile, you would cheer and you would even jeer, regardless of who was looking. No one would understand but you, but that’s okay. The catch is, because there’s always one, you can’t tell anyone, not a soul. You can’t snap it, tweet it, filter it or anything of the sort. You have to keep this one little but all-important thing to yourself, just this once. This is the why and the how of the if, now days that is.  If it’s worth having it might not always be worth sharing, unfortunately. Ah well, like I said, that’s life.

Yessum

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Say it once, say it a thousand times, it doesn’t necessarily yield 100% happiness or certainty. And yet, it’s the one answer to so many of life’s questions. Or maybe not, maybe it’s just the easiest answer to give – it’s the perennial people pleaser. it’s time to switch it up, to deliver some self satisfactory uncertainty, dish out the maybes and the no’s. Join with me, make life easier for yourself and be difficult. Agree to disagree and you might just win, the argument or even the day, it’s all up you.
